Aberdeen Ladies Hockey Club are holding a quiz night to raise funds for the club. The quiz will start at 7.30pm. Maximum of 5 people per team. Food, raffle and a few social drinks. Contact us for more details.
On another windy day Aberdeen Ladies took to the field as overwhelming favourites against the 3rd XI of Dundee University. This being the last 32 match of the Scottish Women’s District Cup.
5 times cup winners Aberdeen took the game straight to Dundee and it wasn’t long before their superior play showed and goals soon followed for Janine Gammack, Lindsay Snowie and Captain Mhairidh Lumsden.
Some superb inter play with Janine and Susan Anderson led to several corners which eventually Janine fired low past an inspired Dundee Uni keeper
By this time constant pressure was building and it wasn’t long before the corner count mounted up for the visiting side from Aberdeen. Chances came for Susan, Mhairidh and eventually Lindsay Snowie.
The girls came in at half time 6-0 up and cruising and talk was made of keeping things fresh with Ladies having the constant play.
The second period followed a similar pattern with the Dundee Uni side packing out defence in a vain effort to thwart the visitors attacks. With weather conditions worsening you could forgive the leading side for taking the foot off the gas somewhat and goals came for Janine and Mhairidhi.
All and all a satisfactory trip with several second team players filling in for missing first team regulars but not at all looking out of place!

On a very windy day at Hillhead table topping Aberdeen Ladies 2nds took on the tricky youngsters of Granite City Wanderers 3rds.
2nd Division champions welcomed back a few regular players and captain Wendy Carrick hoped this would provide the cutting edge in the final third of the pitch.
Aberdeen Ladies enjoyed the bulk of possession and chances came for Katie Jackson and Kirsty Robertson but only to go wide and off the keeper respectively. Read the rest of this entry »
